1925  10th November - My birth at Burnbank Terrace, Lenzie, Kirkintilloch

1927(?) - Moved to 40 Kerr St. Kirkintilloch

1928 28th May - Birth of my sister Margaret McFarlane "Rita"

1930 - Started school - Lairdsland Primary, Kirkintilloch

1931(?) - Moved to 44 Kerr St. Kirkintilloch

1932 Rita and I began piano lessons with Aunt Frances (LRAM ARCM MRST)

1933 - In hospital with scarlet fever. After I was discharged, Rita was infected and hospitalised

1935 - We played at a public piano recital by Frances's pupils

1936 - Moved to "Armour" Northbank Ave. Kirkintilloch

1937 - Left Lairdsland School

1937 and 1938 - Piano recitals

1938 - At Townhead Junior Secondary School, Kirkintilloch for 6 months

1938 - Started at Lenzie Academy, Lenzie

1939 - Declaration of War against Germany

1943 - Left Lenzie Academy with Higher Leaving School Certificate

1943 - At Anderson College, Glasgow

1944 - At Glasgow Dental Hospital

1945 8th May - VE Day and 2nd September - VJ Day

1947 - Called up for National Service.  RAF Padgate. RAF Bridgenorth, RAF Halton

1948 - As dental orderly and musician at RAF St Athan and RAF Brize Norton

1949 - Demobbed

1949-51 - Lion Foundry, Kirkintilloch as Wages Clerk

1949-51 -  Organist at South Church, Kirkintilloch

1951-54 - Organising Secretary at Sandyford-Henderson Church House where I met JEAN LOGAN

1951-52 - Organist at Henry Drummond Church, Glasgow

1952 - Rita and I begin pipe organ lessons at Glasgow Cathedral under Wilfred Emery

1952-54 - Organist at St David's Ledgate, Kirkintilloch.

1953 - JEAN AND I BECAME ENGAGED TO BE MARRIED

1954-55 - Youth Secretary at Glasgow YMCA 

1954-59 - Organist at Lenzie Union Church, Lenzie

1954 - OUR WEDDING ON 12TH JUNE in Sandyford-Henderson Memorial Church, Glasgow with reception in Masonic Halls, Overnewton, Glasgow.   Our first house is Walkerville, 96 Loch Road, Kirkintilloch                                                                                                               

1954- THE WEDDING OF RITA AND RICHMOND GREEN at Lenzie Old Parish Church 

1955-57 - Frederick Braby Steel Mills, Glasgow, Wages Department 

1957-64 - Pennycook's Patent Glazing, Bishopbriggs. Admin Office

1957 24TH JUNE -  BIRTH OF MARGARET

1959 22 JANUARY - BIRTH OF FIONA MACKENZIE

1961 30TH AUGUST - BIRTH OF LESLEY ARMOUR

1962-68 - Organist at St David's Memorial Church, Kirkintilloch

1964 - Kirkintilloch Burgh Council in Burgh Chamberlain's Office

1972 - Moved to 5 Regent Square, Lenzie

1972-???? - Organist at Lenzie Old Parish Church

1974/6 - Conductor of Lenzie Musical Association choir and orchestra

1975 - Kirkintilloch Burgh Council became Strathkelvin District Council

1977 - Strathkelvin Council Giro Supervisor

1982 13TH JULY - DEATH OF MY FATHER

1982 18TH SEPTEMBER - MARRIAGE OF LESLEY TO DEREK FIRTH

1983 - Moved to 92 Langmuirhead Road,  Auchinloch

1987 15TH MARCH - DEATH OF MY MOTHER

1989 - Retired from Strathkelvin Council

1991 2ND AUGUST - MARRIAGE OF MARGARET TO JONATHAN HARDWICK
